BRITISH & INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FESTIVALS
BRITISH & INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FESTIVALS
We are the umbrella body for festivals of the performing arts in the UK and beyond. Our festivals are organised in local communities, regionally or nationally for the benefit of amateur performers in music, dance and speech. Each performer receives verbal and written educational feedback from a professional adjudicator – someone who they might never meet in any other way.
In 2008 there are around 300 festivals affiliated to The British and International Federation of Festivals across the UK and associate members all over the world.
There were over 1 million performers in 2008 - 80% of whom were under the age of 18, and they reached an audience of around 5 million!
We also have an international summer course for instrumentalists and singers – European Youth Summer Music – to find out about the course in 2008, click here.
In 2009 there will be a speech summer course – keep watching this site!
