Eileen studied voice, piano and organ at The Royal College of Music and was awarded a Doctorate from Manchester University in 1989 for research into Music Education. As Director of Music for Oldham LEA she developed a Music Service which gained a national reputation for excellence in both choral and instrumental work and served on two National Executives for Music Education. As a teacher and lecturer in vocal studies and choral work she has led workshops for both children’s and adult choirs in Europe and across the UK. In 2006 she was awarded the MBE for services to music education. abckd
