Organising A Festival – Child Protection
The following documents have been produced in conjunction with SafeNetwork (a service provided by the NSPCC) and Children1st (founded in Scotland as the RSSPCC).
Over the next 12-18 months the Federation will work with all our member Festivals to support the implementation of this best practice advice to help keep children and young people safe.
The documents are designed to be used as follows:
1) The Child Protection Policy is a generic document that can be used by all our member Festivals.
2) Printed copies of the Safe Working Practice and Festival Child Protection A5 leaflets will be made available to all Festival staff and volunteers from Festivals House.
3) The Safer Festivals statement is designed to be included in the Festival Syllabus / Programme and can be tailored to suit the local needs of each individual Festival.
Specific Child Protection Procedures will be provided for each Festival for use by appointed Festival Safeguarding Officer(s).
For further information on these documents and implementation timescales please contact Claire Lloyd (Head of Safeguarding) at Festivals House.
