Volunteering Opportunities

The British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech work for amateur festivals everywhere. Most of our festivals are competitive and the performers receive verbal and written educational feedback from a professional adjudicator in each classification of music, dance or speech. Please click here to download our latest information leaflet explaining our work in more detail.

We have almost 300 amateur festivals affiliated to the Federation, please check out our Festivals Map to find the one nearest to you.

Our Festivals can always do with a helping hand and would love to hear from willing volunteers. Anyone who can take responsibility for organising a particular aspect of the Festival would be made most welcome.

Some examples of some of the skills / attributes that Festivals may require:

Good Organisers, Communicators, Team Workers, Leaders, Networkers

Specific areas of expertise: Finance, Marketing, IT, Social Media, Desk Top Publishing, Word Processing, First Aider, Event Management, Stewarding, Front of House, Back Stage, Theatre Technician, Fundraising, and much more…

An interest in the Performing Arts: Music, Singing, Dance, Drama would be great as well!

Please be aware that the Federation is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk of harm and will advise of any statutory checks (e.g. Disclosure & Barring) that will need to be carried out when volunteers are recruited by our member Festivals.

For further information on volunteering opportunities in your locality please use the Festivals A-Z or Festivals Map and contact the Festival directly.
