Festival Details

The Isle of Man Festival of Choirs is run in October every two years with the next one taking place between 10th and 12th of October 2025. It runs over a weekend starting with a welcome evening on Friday where all choirs get together and sing their party piece. Four adult classes take place on Saturday; Ladies Voice, Male Voice, Mixed Voice and an Open Class with each choir singing four contrasting pieces of no more than 15 minutes. A verbal adjudication is given on stage after each class and written feedback will be forwarded to each choir after the weekend.

The winner of each category will go through to the Choir of the Festival Final where they will be required to sing a 25-minute repertoire of their choice but allowing only one piece already sung in their class entry. This will take place on Sunday preceded by an ensemble competition for between 4 and 12 voices. There are a number of large cash prizes given to class winners and runners up along with the choir of the festival, which is supported by the Isle of Man Department for Enterprise.
