David Clover Festival of Singing Festival Weekend

The Festival Weekend is an initiative in the David Clover Festival of Singing and provides the opportunity to singers between the ages of 7 and 99+ years to perform in front of friendly , supportive audiences and adjudicators. Every singer receives both verbal and written feedback. The Festival is for amateur performers only and professionals are not eligible to enter. (A professional is considered to be one who derives the major part of his/her livelihoodfrom singing performance.)

Eligible singers may or may not receive singing tuition. Classes are organised according to the age of the singers and are usually 7-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-15 years, 16-18 years and 19 years and over. Some classes are open to all age groups.

Classes are Recital (4 ages - Preparatory 12 - 13 years, Junior 14-15 years, Intermediate 16-18 years and Open 19 years and over).  Vocal Solo; British Song; Oratorio or Sacred Song or Opera/Light opera; French or German Song; French melodie; German Lieder; World Song; Ensemble Class; Songs from Shows, Films and Musicals (both pre and post 1960); Song with Words by Shakespeare

An official accompanist is provided should you wish to use one or you can bring your own.

Any singers who are Year 10 or above and under 19 years of age who have achieved grade 8 and above, studied at a specialist music school or a Conservatoire Junior Department, but who have not yet arrived at Senior Conservatoire level should enter the Singers' Platform classes 6 and 8 as they are not eligible for the festival Weekend classes.
