BIFF Speech & Drama Adjudicator Application

Thank for your interest in applying to become a BIFF Speech & Drama Adjudicator. 

Before you begin, please read the full application process here

Please complete the application form below. Please note: You will receive an acknowledgement message once your application has successfully been submitted. Please ensure that all required fields are completed before you submit your form.

You will need to submit the following along with your application: 

1. CV

Your CV should include the following information and include the relevant dates:  

  • Education 
  • Employment history
  • Assessment experience as an examiner and/or adjudicator, and/or other (if any)
  • Qualifications (include subjects)
  • Relevant subject specific CPD training and dates
  • Festival experience
  • Relevant teaching experience (include the level and scope)

2. Personal statement

We require a scanned, handwritten personal statement which should include detailed information of:

  • Your key personal attributes
  • Your involvement in the festival movement, e.g. as a performer, a teacher entering pupils or as a volunteer. 
  • Areas of specialism and expertise
  • Relevant subject specific experience
  • Experience, if any, of working with amateur performers
  • Any other information you feel would support your application.

3.  Introductory video

A short video (approx 3 mins long) outlining why you are interested in becoming a BIFF Adjudicator and what you feel that you can bring to the role.

Please note: The maximum size for the video is 50MB so you have the option to submit a link or send by WeTransfer if needed. 

4. Names of Referees

Names of 2 people we can contact for references. These should not be current BIFF members. 

Please ensure that your referee is aware that we will be contacting them for a reference. 

Please note that we do not accept references from relatives. 

Please note the following:

Assessment for shortlisting is made against key criteria based solely on the documents and videos received. If any of the requirements are not fulfilled this may prevent your application from being shortlisted.  

By submitting the application form, you are certifying that the information supplied is correct. If subsequent information comes forward contrary to what has been submitted, appointment to the panel may be withdrawn or suspended but not before an opportunity to discuss and rectify such inconsistencies has taken place..
