Lichfield Festival of Music offers performers of all ages a welcoming and supportive platform to showcase their talents, gain valuable feedback from professional adjudicators, and build confidence in a friendly environment. With both competitive and non-competitive classes available, it’s the perfect opportunity to develop performing skills in a relaxed and encouraging setting.
The 2026 Lichfield Festival of Music will take place on Saturdays 12th, 19th and 26th September.
With a supportive, family feel, for nearly 50 years, the Lichfield Festival of Music has offered amateur musicians of all ages and levels of ability an opportunity to perform, gain valuable feedback and meet other like-minded individuals. We attract entrants from across the UK, including from as far afield as Oxfordshire, Lancashire and North Wales, as well as from the areas surrounding Lichfield.
We hold classes for:
- Vocal, including music theatre, classical, pop, folk-song, opera, operetta, lieder, duet and non-competitive classes.
- Piano, including solo, duet, sonata, teacher-student duet, recital and non-competitive classes.
- Instrumental, including solo, duet, ensemble concerto, and non-competitive classes.
- Choral, for both junior and senior choirs, in addition to a non-competitive class.
Piano Classes
- Saturday 12th September – adult piano classes (18+), including beginner and non-competitive classes (18+), plus open classes (duet, sonata and recital)
- Saturday 19th September – piano solo classes for ages 10–11
- The remaining under-18s piano solo and duet classes (including beginner and non-competitive) will be shared across both Saturdays 12th and 19th - please keep both dates free.
Vocal Classes
- Saturday 12th September – adult vocal classes (18+), including open duet and non-competitive classes (18+)
- Saturday 19th September – under-18s vocal classes, including duet and non-competitive classes
Choral Classes
- Saturday 12th September – all choral classes (including non-competitive)
Instrumental Classes (Solo & Ensemble)
- Saturday 26th September – all instrumental classes (including non-competitive)
