Worksop Music and Drama Festival aims to offer performers of all ages a public platform from which keen performers can receive the encouragement and advice of an experienced adjudicator and appreciate the value and enjoyment to be gained from performance. We are a friendly and welcoming Festival with three venues (Worksop College, The Crossing and Outwood Academy Portland) and we offer both competitive and non-competitive classes. We offer numerous classes including vocal, musical theatre, string, piano, woodwind, brass, percussion, ensemble, two skills, choirs and many classes for schools! The 2026 Worksop Music and Drama Festival will take place on the following dates in March.
Saturday March 7th - Woodwind / Brass / Strings Day. All classes at Worksop College in the Mountgarret Recital Room with Nancy Litten LRAM(pft), LRAM(vln), ATCL(Voice), FLCM(kbd), CertEd, ProfCertRAM, FRSA, FISM, EPTA as the adjudicator.
Sunday March 8th - Piano / Strings Day. Again all classes will be at Worksop College in the Mountgarret Recital Room with Nancy Litten LRAM(pft), LRAM(vln), ATCL(Voice), FLCM(kbd), CertEd, ProfCertRAM, FRSA, FISM, EPTA as the adjudicator.
Friday March 13th - Schools’ Day with vocal and percussion in the evening. The Schools' Day venues will be The Crossing Church and Centre in Worksop for the morning (choirs / ensembles), Outwood Academy Portland for the afternoon (choirs / ensembles) and the Mountgarret Recital Room for the evening including percussion and vocals. The adjudicator will be Ben Costello MA, BMus, PgDip, FISM, FRSA.
Saturday March 14th - Vocal Day. The adjudicator will be Ben Costello MA, BMus, PgDip, FISM, FRSA.
Sunday March 15th - Vocal Day (Younger vocal age groups plus vocal championship classes). The adjudicator will be Ben Costello MA, BMus, PgDip, FISM, FRSA.
The syllabus for the 2026 Festival will launch and entries will open at the end of September 2025 via runmyfestival.
The closing date for entries will be Friday 23rd January 2026.
We hold a Celebration of Music Concert in April after our Festival has concluded. The concert includes a selection of some of the most notable performances from the festival in March and has two monetary awards from Worksop Rotary Club; £100 for the most promising instrumentalist and £100 for the most promising vocalist. The Concert will be held in The Crossing Church and Centre, Worksop on 29th April 2026 from 7pm. All additional awards at the concert are selected by our adjudicators.
