We are a festival based in North Nottinghamshire and attract entrants not only from Nottinghamshire but from the surrounding counties. We were formed in 1904 "for the continuation of good music and brightening of village life” and we are still going strong today! We are a very supportive festival and welcome all performers wishing to showcase their talents to an enthusiastic audience and to gain valuable feedback from our Adjudicators. This year we would like to welcome back Steven Roberts MEd,BA(Hons), CertEd, BBCM, CMS, FRSA as our most knowledgeable adjudicator.
This is the second weekend of our fun and welcoming festival. There are a wide variety of classes for schools, choirs, ensembles, bands, percussion and our ever popular vocal classes. The vocal classes offer a wide variety of classes ranging from musical theatre, disney, pop songs, classical, comic/humorous classes and many more! A treat for the audiences!
Friday 12th March is our schools' day and is held in The Crossing and Outwood Academy Portland in Worksop during the daytime and is an opportunity for school choirs, groups, and bands to showcase their talents. It is lovely to see such entusiasm from the school teachers and the students! In the evening we return to the Montgarret Recital Room for the start of our vocal classes and percussion classes.
Saturday 13th March is the first of our two vocal days. All classes are held in the Mountgarret Recital Room at Worksop College.
Sunday 14th March is the second of our two vocal days and starts in the morning with the Year 6 and under vocal classes. This is also when our Vocal Championship classes are held for Junior Intermediate and Seniors.
